As some of you may know my wife and I just finished a move to Chicago, IL. I will be attending Moody Bible Institute here in the fall. We are both so excited, I'm convinced that God is going to do amazing things with us here.
I wanted to extend the blessing of all the provisions God has secured for us in this migration.
1. Although I drive a '92 Saab, and Monique's parents came with us in a used pickup, we had no vehicle problems along the way; Praise God!
2. All of our furniture and other assets are safe and have suffered zero injury.
3. We had a little trouble the day we moved out in getting our entire security deposit returned to us, but that has worked out fine as well. Our landlord was originally only going to return half of our initial deposit.
4. Monique's father is disabled, and sometime experiences spells of exhaustion, but he endured through the entire trip.
5. One of my former groomsmen was able to put us up for one of the nights during our trip; it was nice to see him and fellowship with him and his soon-to-be fiance. We only had to pay for one hotel and it was set at a very reasonable price with many accomodations.
6. Driving on the highway for 900+ miles is never fun, especially with following vehicles; but we maneuvered in such a way as to avoid all accidents.
7. We stopped for lunch in Scranton, PA; where we also got to meet up with another one of my groomsmen, Jonathan Edwards. It was great catching up with him.
8. When we finally arrived after a long, tiring trip, we were met with surprising assistance, as several people aided in helping us move our furniture up to the apartment.
Monique and I have experienced the grace and wonder of God in our lives during this past year of marriage, and have been exceedingly blessed by his sustaining power in this move. Thanks to all who helped us along. Give praise where it's due.
