I can't image what Jason was thinking while all of this was going on. It's safe to assume that he was a recent convert to Christianity. I wonder if he knew he'd have to face such difficult persecution so soon after he got saved. Christians are promised persecution and its not uncommon to follow shortly after conversion: to show us just what we signed up for.

A Jailer Saved Acts 16:25-40

When a person seriously faces death they consider what's going to happen on the other side. Death became such a reality to this jailer that he wants to make sure he knows where he's going when his time comes again. We need to be prepared to respond to people in these types of situations.

Paul and Comrades in Prison Acts 16:14-24

Don't be so quick to call those you meet "brother" or "sister", you may end up shooting yourself, and the reputation of Christ, in the foot. Allow discernment and time to be your allies before endorsing anybody.

We are going to have disagreements with our Christian brothers. As long as the disagreement is one of preference, and not amoral issue, then not reaching a resolution is acceptable. While it may be tempting to get angry we need to be careful to remain peaceable.

Despite overwhelming trials Paul and Barnabas remain faithful to carrying out the task they had been commissioned to do. Serving Christ has its good times and its bad. The test of true discipleship is how we respond during the hard times.

The Gospel is Directed Towards the Gentiles Acts 13:42-52

If you're witnessing to a group of people and they're continuously rejecting you...witness to another group. This isn't dishonorable, especially if the message is falling on deaf ears.

Pisidia: Paul Preaches - Part 2 Acts 13:26-41

Certain decisions have drastic consequences. The Jewish leaders crucified the Messiah. Paul closes this section with a prophetic warning: listen to what I have to say or you'll also be on the negative end of prophecy. This tactic is effective as we'll see in tomorrow's passage.
